Dr Richard Woodward

I am a political economist and author of 3 books on international political economy and international organisations.

My interests lie specifically global governance, international institutions, offshore financial centres, tax havens, and development in small states.

Principally my research investigates the role and effectiveness of the chief multilateral economic institutions responsible for governing the global economy with a particular focus on the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and its contribution to an emergent international regime designed to promote greater transparency into international tax affairs.

I am currently at the School of Global Business, Technological University Dublin. I previously taught at Coventry University and the University of Hull, UK. I have been a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2017.

I have held visiting positions at the University of Tasmania and the Sheffield Political Economy Research Institute (SPERI) and am a Non-Resident Fellow at Trends Research and Advisory in the UAE.
